Well, it turns out that due to some legal crap, the dev team won't be working out. The good news is that that means I will have complete creative control over the programming that goes into any of my games. I have an artist, though, who is ready and willing to make the graphics for me, he's actually one of my friends, so that's all cool I guess.
In other news I finished the One Enemy Challenge a while ago, but won't go public with it until I find some music for it, which may take a LONG arse time.
Started another game project in flash, this one's gonna be a vertical shooter and the engine is EXTREMELY interchangeable and versatile. All I'm going to say on it is: I can publish hundreds of unique games with it, without having to write a single line of actionscript, all thanks to the power of XML.
I won't be working on the java project I started a while ago very much in the near future. I will return to it eventually, but for some reason Eclipse hates me going back and forth between computers to work on it, and has come up with every glitch imaginable to keep me from working on it (I can't tell you how many times I've had to copy + paste my source files into an empty project, ugh...).

New post in a while, dev team.
So I've kinda been really lazy lately with updates, unfortunately not much has happened as of late.
The flash loader looks as though its just not going to work, flash player simply won't load random pages, and it's really unreliable.
In other news I may be starting a new game development team which would mean new flash games being cranked out much faster than ever before. (Not that I've published one since the beginning of this blog, lol.)
Will ping in with updates on the dev team later.

My own little file type
So as I've mentioned before I have been working on a small java game at school for a few months now, just trying to self teach myself java. This is going to be a retro-looking sprite game, complete with screen flicker and all.
So in order to store my sprite data in a format that doesn't have all sorts of unnecessary compression and features that make a file like a .gif so hard to read for someone like me, I have set out to create my own file type.
The official name right now is ".csprt" for "cheezy sprite." It can store essentially everything you need for a simple, small bitmap sprite in an overly bulky, easy to read format. (It even supports transparency, yay!)
This is the documentation I have so far on it, should you want to try something with it yourself:

The One Enemy Challenge

Still sick, haven't done much
I'm still feeing really sick so I haven't done much in the way of work lately, ugh. On top of that I have a ton of schoolwork to do that I missed, so don't expect anything much in the near future, although I'll try to update this with anything that pops up.
